VideoSearch GbR (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the VideoSearch platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Video Content

When you upload videos, we process them to generate vector embeddings. The original video files are stored securely in our cloud infrastructure. We do not use your video content for training machine learning models or for any purpose other than providing the search service to you.

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for analytics and service improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the VideoSearch service
  • To process and store your video content and embeddings
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To communicate with you about service updates
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS in the EU region). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Video files and embeddings are retained until you delete them or close your account. Upon account deletion, we remove all associated data within 30 days.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth — for authentication
  • Supabase — for database, storage, and authentication infrastructure
  • Google Gemini API — for generating video and text embeddings (video data is sent to Google's API for processing)

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the service.
